October 22nd Free Sensitive Document Shred Event Slated


BRUNSWICK, GA (September 14, 2022) – Truist, Keep Golden Isles Beautiful and the Brunswick Downtown Development Authority are hosting a community sensitive document shred event on Saturday, October 22nd. The FREE event begins at 10AM and ends when the trucks are full (check KGIB Facebook page for event day updates) at the St. Simons Truist branch (501 Sea Island Road, ENTER FROM FREDERICA ROAD ONLY) and at a NEW location in Brunswick, 503 Mansfield Street downtown (back parking lot, ENTER FROM REYNOLDS STREET).


“We are excited to again partner with Keep Golden Isles Beautiful, Iron Mountain and now the Brunswick Downtown Development Authority to hold our 6th annual free Community Sensitive Document Shred Day,” said Truist Senior Vice President Lance Turpin. “We believe this annual event will help our local businesses and consumers reduce their exposure to fraud and identity theft. We will have St. Simons and Brunswick shredding location welcome everyone in the community to drop off their documents.”


IMPORTANT INFO:

  • NO EARLY BIRDS (please don’t come early);

  • NO drop offs;

  • LIMIT: 10 boxes per vehicle;

  • Check KGIB Facebook page for event-day updates regarding trucks filling/event ending;

  • Event ends when trucks are full;

  • Volunteers will remove shred materials from vehicles;

  • Please be patient.


ACCEPTED: shred items include: any color office paper; any color file folders; staples, paper clips, rubber bands and small binders do not need to be removed.


NOT ACCEPTED: cardboard; common trash; hazardous materials; plastics or metals; CDs and DVDs.
