KGIB To Offer Volunteer Site Leader & Education Volunteer Training

BRUNSWICK, GA (August 14, 2026) – Make a difference in the Golden Isles as a Keep Golden Isles Beautiful (KGIB) Volunteer Site Leader or Education Volunteer.

While both sets of volunteers represent KGIB at organized events, Site Leaders set up/distribute cleanup supplies, give instruction, register volunteers and provide staff with post-cleanup reports and Education Volunteers set up informational displays, interact with the public and record pertinent questions.

To extend community reach, KGIB is offering a Volunteer Site Leader and Education Volunteer training session and welcomes all wanting to learn more about these unique volunteer opportunities. Attendees will learn the ins and outs of KGIB representation, park / roadside / beach / marsh cleanups, educational displays and have an opportunity for questions to be answered.

“With only two KGIB staff members, Volunteer Site Leaders and Education Volunteers are crucial to increasing the number of community cleanups we host and community events we attend annually,” said KGIB executive director Lea King-Badyna. “Volunteer Site Leaders can lead just one or multiple cleanups while Education Volunteers can assist at one or more community events. The more KGIB volunteers in both positions, the better community coverage we can provide.”

The training session will be held on Thursday, September 24th at 5:30PM in the upstairs meeting room of Old City Hall (1229 Newcastle Street downtown Brunswick). Potential Volunteer Site Leaders and Education Volunteers are asked to pre-register for training supply and planning purposes. All ages and abilities are welcome and encouraged to attend.
