STORM DRAINS 101
educational presentation OR event set up
YOUTH EDUCATION
With 250+ storm drain outfalls in the Golden Isles, land litter has many opportunities to quickly become marine debris. Making this connection is imperative to cleaner natural resources. Student focused, STORM DRAINS 101 explores the purpose/function of storm drains and how land litter is carried to local streams, rivers, marshes, and the ocean via the storm drain system. Making the connection between “parking lot litter” and our coastal natural resources encourages the proper disposal of trash and recycling.

YOUTH ENGAGEMENT
STORM DRAINS 101 can be presented in class/outside and can also be set up at festivals/events as a KGIB staffed display with talking points.
