sponsored by Colonel K9 Dog Doo Disposal

Each year, Keep Golden Isles Beautiful organizes the community’s annual Christmas tree recycling effort, encouraging citizens to recycle their Christmas trees instead of dumping them along roadways, marshes and creeks. Click HERE for most recent event flyer.

Eight community drop-off locations are available to drop your organic Christmas tree (DO NOT drop lights, decorations or artificial trees) for FREE during a two-week period (December 26-January 7).

All sites are open 24 hours, 7 days a week unless otherwise indicated (2 locations):

DROP OFF YOUR OLD STRING LIGHTS

There is now one location available to drop old holiday string lights (January 8-12):

PICK UP A FREE NATIVE SEEDLING

Thanks to a Keep Golden Isles Beautiful, Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation and Georgia Forestry Commission partnership, free seedlings are available to Glynn County residents while supplies last (January 8-12):

Accompanying the annual Christmas tree recycling effort are two additional projects:

  • Ultimate Christmas Tree Contest – Keep Golden Isles Beautiful teams with The Home Depot to host an “ultimate Christmas tree” art contest for students. Five winning participants from The Boys and Girls Club receive live Christmas trees for their efforts.

  • Brunswick Christmas Parade – Glynn County 4-H represents Keep Golden Isles Beautiful and promote the Christmas tree recycling effort in ultra creative ways.
