BRUNSWICK, GA (October 20, 2016) — The Clean Sweep Award recognizes local businesses and non-profit organizations for their efforts in maintaining clean and attractive premises. McDonald’s restaurant along Brunswick’s highway 17 has been selected as the 2016 third quarter for profit recipient, while the First African Baptist Church on St. Simons Island receives the non-profit distinction. Selected by a panel of community members, Clean Sweep awards are presented quarterly by Keep Golden Isles Beautiful, the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce and The News. In keeping with the spirit of upcycling and recycling, Keep Golden Isles Beautiful generates its own custom awards using materials destined for the landfill.
