With technology improvements and growing industry interest, new technologies and programs are making it easier than ever to recycle almost anything.

Keep Golden Isles Beautiful now accepts the following non-traditional recycling streams by appointment:

 

  • oral care products
  • beauty/personal care products
  • chip/snack bags
  • tape dispensers
  • pens/highlighters/markers
  • cereal bags
  • drink pouches
  • cigarette waste 
  • flonase
  • Britta/PUR

Recyclables should be dry and bagged according to waste stream before drop off. Contact Keep Golden Isles Beautiful to arrange drop off.

DENHP_ColorEmbassy Suites Partnership 

Embassy Suites by Hilton in Brunswick has partnered with Keep Golden Isles Beautiful to offer non-traditional recycling options to hotel guests. A long time proponent of conventional recycling, Embassy Suites in Brunswick jumped at the chance to offer guests even greater recycling opportunities.

Upon checkout, guests are welcome to leave the following items on the guest room vanity to be recycled: oral care products, beauty/personal care products, chip/snack bags and pens/markers/highlighters.

Collected by hotel housekeeping staff, Keep Golden Isles Beautiful ships the items to TerraCycle for recycling.

Keep Golden Isles Beautiful partners with TerraCycle to promote non-traditional recycling opportunities in our local community. Through TerraCycle, non-traditional items such as cosmetics/personal care items, pens/markers/highlighters, toothpaste tubes/tooth brushes, cigarette waste and much more can be easily recycled. A free program, users simply sign up and save via TerraCycle and then download a prepaid shipping label to ship collected materials to TerraCycle for recycling.

Keep Golden Isles Beautiful promotes “eliminating the idea of waste” in various media outlets and provides tools and information to encourage community businesses and individuals to participate in TerraCycle’s programs and increase collections of non-traditional recyclable items. Together with participating community members, Keep Golden Isles Beautiful is directly diverting specific waste materials from the landfill and into the recycling stream.
