GA/FL Football Weekend

GSTC4 FOR THE WEB RIGHT WAY UPJoining Glynn County, the University of Georgia Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant, Keep Golden Isles Beautiful actively encourages recycling and litter prevention in the STASH YOUR TRASH public awareness anti-litter campaign surrounding the yearly Georgia/Florida football weekend.

The day prior to the annual football match up greets 10,000+ football fans on a tiny portion of St. Simons Island beach, creating a need for extensive litter prevention messaging and programs.

Stash Your Trash Campaign – litter prevention strategy promotion locally and to the Athens collegiate community

Off-site Recycle Bin Loaner Program – provides 95 portable recycling bins for beach usage
GA/FL Friday Beach Gathering – assists Glynn County government in the prevention of beach litter; assists in the removal of beach litter; organizes park and parking lot volunteer litter recovery efforts
Beach Side Cooler Exchange – to prevent plastic foam cooler litter, during the Friday beach gathering, volunteers exchange cardboard recyclable coolers for visitor plastic foam coolers
Community Beach Sweep – organizes volunteers for annual beach sweep litter removal effort the day after Friday beach gathering
