BRING ONE FOR THE CHIPPER – Christmas Tree Recycling

WEB_BOFT with kidsEach year Keep Golden Isles Beautiful organizes the community’s annual Christmas tree recycling effort, encouraging citizens to recycle their Christmas trees instead of dumping them along roadways, marshes and creeks.

Seven community drop-off locations are available free of charge during a two-week period (click HERE for current info) with six locations staffed by volunteers on BRING ONE FOR THE CHIPPER EVENT DAY (click HERE for current info).

Local Boy and Girl Scout troops provide volunteer effort for the BRING ONE FOR THE CHIPPER EVENT along with considerable assistance from both the City of Brunswick, Glynn County and Georgia Power.

Accompanying the annual Christmas tree recycling effort are two additional projects:

  • Ultimate Christmas Tree Contest – Keep Golden Isles Beautiful teams with The Home Depot to host an “ultimate Christmas tree” art contest for students. Eight winning participants from The Boys and Girls Club receive live Christmas trees for their efforts.
  • Brunswick Christmas Parade – Marshes of Glynn Girls Scouts represent Keep Golden Isles Beautiful and promote the Christmas tree recycling effort in ultra creative ways.
