National Planting Day Observed

National Planting Day Observed

BRUNSWICK, GA (September 19, 2016) — In observance of National Planting Day, Keep Golden Isles Beautiful teamed with Dickinson’s Witch Hazel Skincare and Keep America Beautiful to plant an American Witch Hazel Pollinator Garden at the City of Brunswick’s Roosevelt Harris, Jr. Senior Citizen’s Center. The Center’s clients will enjoy watering the garden and watching the pollinators it attracts. In the winter when many flowers have withered away, bees and other pollinators rely on the power of Witch Hazel plants to gather and store pollen. That pollen is then used in the spring before other flowers bloom, to feed new pollinators.
