2020 Green Screen Environmental Film Festival Slated for February 8
BRUNSWICK, GA (January 9, 2020) – Green Screen, the Golden Isles’ premier environmental film festival brings environmental awareness to the big screen on Saturday, February 8, 1:45 PM (doors open) at The Ritz Theater in historic downtown Brunswick. Organized by Green Scene of Coastal Georgia, the 2020 film festival offers networking opportunities during an educational fair spotlighting local environmental groups, and sustainability-related films, including the feature documentary, LIVING THE CHANGE: INSPIRING STORIES FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE.
Film festival admission is free (suggested $5 donation), but attendee RSVP is requested to ensure adequate refreshments. Please visit our Facebook page < @GreenSceneGA > to RSVP.
“We’re excited for another successful Green Screen Film Festival at The Ritz Theatre. This year, we’re partnering with the Ritz and Golden Isles Arts and Humanities to kick off The Big Read, a program funded by the National Endowment for the Arts as a celebration of literature and community,” said Green Scene president Katy Smith. “We chose this year’s film, LIVING THE CHANGE, to offer hope and a fresh perspective toward environmental challenges we are facing on the coast and in communities around the world.”
LIVING THE CHANGE – This inspiring film tells stories of people around the world helping to bring about positive change in their communities, and pioneering solutions to many of today’s environmental challenges. The stories foster hope and generate ideas for a restorative and regenerative way of living.
Two additional short films will be presented, and the audience will engage in a panel discussion with invited guests: local residents, business owners, and environmental professionals who have made sustainability a priority in their lives and careers. Returning will be an educational exhibitor fair, a drawing for some wonderful door prizes, vegetable seeds, and a “sticker station” featuring an array of local environmental campaigns and programs.
Coffee drinkers are encouraged to bring their own coffee cups to enjoy fresh, locally-brewed coffee.
